Desde novembro/2008, o professor de capoeira Renato Bastos, 48 anos, mais conhecido como Mestre Baiano, dá aulas de Capoeira para idosos nos jardins da Farmácia Popular, nas dependências do Instituto Vital Brasil, em Niterói. Lá, os candidatos interessados em se inscrever nas aulas de capoeira devem levar apenas atestado médico. As aulas são gratuitas.

Ao meu ver, é importante trazer para qualquer idade a Capoeira, ela é um esporte da nossa raiz que envolve dança, música e defesa pessoal.
